Now that the holidays are over, I am well over my usual weight and continually stuffing my face with sweets. It is a dangerously slippery slope once you start eating whatever you want and drinking copious amounts of alcohol because once you quit, your body asks “WHY, DEAR GOD,WHY?!” No? Not happening for you? Because my pants say stop eating, but my gut tells me otherwise.

Getting rid of the sugar cravings is one of the hardest starting points. Ive been craving ice cream on a daily basis. So why not eat ice cream that is made of healthier ingredients and easy to prepare? Here are a few indulgent but delicious recipes that can help you maintain your diet routine. All you need are a few ingredients and a blender!

1) Peanut Butter Banana “Ice Cream

Any dessert with peanut butter, I am an absolute sucker for. So when I came across this recipe, I couldn’t resist. It’s basically like my dessert dream come true. With the base being frozen bananas, this recipe is a match made in ice cream heaven. All it takes is peanut butter, banana and vanilla extract and voila you got yourself the perfect combo.

2) Skinny Strawberry Ice Cream

Sometimes simple is best. This ice cream literally takes no time to prepare and looks just as good as it tastes. For those who aren’t the biggest fan of banana, this ice cream gets its texture from Greek Yogurt, which I find to be just as good, if not, better than actual cream. The addition white balsamic vinegar brings this ice cream to the next level. No one will be able to guess what special ingredient you have in your ice cream!

The ingredients list includes:

  • Frozen strawberries (organic is best!)
  • Greek Yogurt
  • White Balsamic Vinegar (this makes a huge difference! – do not put too much though!)
  • Honey
